Lifelong health has its foundations in development

Our Mission

The Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Research (CPNR) is a multidisciplinary research center specializing in basic scientific and clinical aspects of health sciences as they apply to women before, during and after pregnancy and to their children for a lifetime.

We extend interactive opportunities to all branches of research and clinical medicine that affect women's and children's health such as cardiovascular physiology, fertility, mental health, cancer and aging.

We offer optimal training opportunities for our research members, as well as for external partners from academic, private and industry research environments.

Our resources are available to provide a forum for research and educational interaction with clinicians in all branches of medicine relevant to women's and children's health.

We actively seek involvement in outreach to groups interested in women's health (e.g. political, health insurance industry and the media).

We are committed to applying state-of-the-art life science technologies (molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, molecular morphology, bioinformatics, functional NMR) to attain an in-depth understanding of the molecular, physiological and pathophysiological events that enable women and their children to enjoy the best possible health.
